No idea what I'm doing wrong but cant make boss gt-100 sound anything like this live
Hi, Line/Phones output. For this type of preset, use humbucker pickups. Connect directly to the Mixer/PA system and use the stage's audio monitors. At home, use headphones or audio monitors like the Yamaha HS5 or another in this style. If you plug it into the input of a real amp, there will be overlapping amps because the GT100 is already simulating an amp/cabinet/mic, so it won't sound good.
Thank you! I guess the biggest issue is that what sounds ok / great with headphones simply does not work through mixer and with a band. I don't know is this a universal problem between "good home solo sounds" vs. "with band"
Have you checked if your GT-100's output is actually in "Line/Phones"? If a different output type is configured, cabinet simulations will be disabled by the L & R outputs. So, when you connect headphones at home, this automatically activates cabinet simulations. It is necessary to put the GT-100's output on LIne/Phones so that the cabinets are active all the time, even through the L & R outputs.

Great video! Do you consider necesary adding an external preamp to the boss GT1 and GT100 units nowadays to get a realistic sound? I have the Boss GT100 and the Nux Solid Studio, and I’m still tweaking to get good dynamics in the crunch tones. Any recomendation? Thanks!
Thanks! 👊🔥🎸 It is not necessary to add external preamps on Boss multi-effects as these devices have great preamps. I added it because there were some requests to use the 006 with the GT1. Entre a boss GT-1 e zoom g1 four, qual tu acha mais fácil de chegar nesses timbres mais consagrados? E qual tem mais DSP?
Fala Gustavo! Tanto Boss quanto Zoom chegam bem nestes timbres, são ótimas neste sentido. Os cabs das Zoom G1F/G3n/G5n soam mais próximos de IRs mas a GT1 timbra muito bem também. O processador da GT1 é o mesmo da GT100 então nesse sentido não há comparação. E quanto à construção, a GT1 é muito mais robusta que a G1F/G1xF e também há o footswitch CTL1 que podemos ligar/desligar/controlar parâmetros de vários efeitos em uma só pisada por causa da função Assigns que temos nas Boss. Além disso podemos conectar um footswitch externo para ser o CTL2 e CTL3 como fiz nestes vídeos: ua-cam.com/video/B5RGW0lAl10/v-deo.html / ua-cam.com/video/IoWZ4YmUASw/v-deo.html E a GT1 pode ser usada como interface de áudio, coisa que nem a G1F/G1xF, nem a G3n/G3xn fazem. Somente a G5n, G6 e G11 têm essa função. Valeu cara! Quando filmei as configurações do preset o distortion estava ligado mas eu acho que no vídeo eu toquei com ele desligado e rolando o timbre só do preamp. Aí vc ajusta o drive do preamp pra sua guitarra e testa com o pickup single de braço de uma strato. O distortion tá no footswitch FS1 pra impulsionar o preamp pra um lead. É que gravei esse vídeo já faz algumas semanas e depois disso já fiz tanta coisa que nem lembrava, vi ontem perdido numa pasta aqui no pc haha Valeu! *Eu não tenho Amplitube ou outros Vst's tipo Guitar Rig, Bias Fx há muitos anos. Depois dos IRs eu fui parando com esses Vst's de forma gradativa. :)

Pô... a minha deu pau cara. No palco gravando DVD ao vivo de um artista há muitos anos. Na época não existia ainda a GT1 e eu tinha levado a ME25 pra dar uma estudada no hotel durante o dia. Foi a ME25 que salvou o resto do show. Depois tive que refazer toda a guitarra do DVD haha Mesmo assim peguei essa Hd500x depois e nunca tive problemas com essa, segue forte. :)

Estás usando una pickup humbucker de puente? Necesitas usar humbucker en posición de puente para este preset. Nunca una single coil. *No uso amplificadores. El ME80 se conecta directamente a la computadora mediante un cable USB y me monitoreo a través de auriculares.

Something i hope they could also add to the v5 fw, is to be able to record audio via usb into a phone camera, along with the drum machine on,it is possible to do so only if you connect first to a pc and select looper and save, but each time you switch off the mg30, it's gone, you have to start over. I don't know if you have contacts with Nux, but if they can fix that permanently, this modeler would be just perfect. Thanks a lot for your great sounds 👍

This is pretty much the tone i used to use in Guitar Rig 3 and loved which i've been trying to find for the Boss GT-100. Steve Lukather did some similar 80s patches but they don't match the quality of this one :)
